General Contents Page Research

  • This contents page has the colour scheme of simple black and white which follows the colour scheme of my front cover as it has white and black in it so this colour scheme would work well.  I want to stick to the same colour scheme as my front page as it shows consistency throughout the magazine.  The white shirt blends in with the background which I do not like because it doesn't have any outstanding features to it, it is all very dull and boring; it has no eye catching colours such as red.
  • The image on this contents page is of one person which focuses all attention on this one model and he takes up the majority of the page which draws in the attention of the target audience more.  His body language is stern which shows he is confident and strong.
  • The actual 'contents' writing does not fill the whole page, it just sits in a block in the right hand corner of the page which does not stand out enough, it is fairly small writing, it does not stand out enough; therefore, I do not wish to take this aspect forward.

  • The contents page has a simple colour scheme of black, white and grey which does follow the scheme of my front page; so this colour scheme would be ideal to use.  These colours work well together, Kanye (the model) is wearing different colour clothing compared to the white background so he does not blend in with the background as the previous contents page does; therefore, I like this design a lot more.
  • The image on this contents page is of one person again, which focuses all attention on this model which I do like.  His facial expression is serious and stern which reflects his confidence and strongness within the music industry..
  • The actual 'contents' in this image is more what I am looking for.  The features of the contents is down the right hand side which I like so it leaves room for the image on the contents page as well.  The 'contents' title is not originally what I had in mind but I seeing this contents page with the title in this way, it does stand out to me which is ideally what I want in my music magazine, I want it to be eye catching.
  • The contents page has a simple colour scheme of black, white, grey and red which relatively follows the scheme of the front page; so these colours would be ideal to use on the contents page too, they work well together as well.  There are more than one image on the contents page which I quite like the idea of as it is not a simple look.
  • There is a main image on the contents page of Adele but then there is a smaller image as well which makes the contents page slightly more complex and interesting.  Although this is not a rap magazine contents page it gives a sense of a different layout compared to the previous two contents pages which I quite like.  I would have different types of images on the contents page that show rappers.
  • The actual 'contents' in this image is a simple line across the top of the page which isn't really what I am looking for.  The features are down the left hand side and it looks very spaced out despite a lot going on.
